International Choir Competition & Festival Budapest
April 5 - 9, 2009
The International Choir Competition Budapest is the oldest MUSICA MUNDI Competition.
It has been taking place every two years during the Holy Week (the week before Easter) and it is supposed to be the most traditional and distinctive event of the INTERKULTUR Foundation. It is part of a wonderful tradition that the opening ceremony of the International Choir Competition & Festival Budapest always includes a symphony concert. Celebrated performances of the "Sinfonie der Tausend" by Mahler, "Magnificat"by Vajdas, "Belshazzar's Feast" by Waltens or "African Sanctus" by Fanshawe among others, which were all conducted by Gabor Hollerung, took place in the Music Academy in Budapest.
