Sightseeing Programme

Half-day trips (4 hours) incl. coach and English speaking guide

TA’QALI /RABAT
You visit the handicraft village Ta’Qali where you can get an impression of the traditional glassblowers, the well known gold- and silversmithes or buy some typical Maltese ceramics. Afterwards a guided tour through Rabat awaits you. You will also visit the Roman Villa and the catacombs.

THREE CITIES
This tour will take you to Vittoriosa – the first home of the Knights of St. John before Valletta was built and where the Great Siege of 1565 took place. The group will be taken through the still existing allies and historic buildings and the St. Lawrence Church. The highlight of this trip is a short cruise with the “Dghajsa“, the authentic Maltese Gondola in their original state, which takes you through the channel of Vittoriosa and Sengla.

BLUE GROTTO
This excursion will enable us to discover the southern part of Malta starting with the picturesque fishing village of Marsaxlokk, where one can admire the waterfront lined with the colourful Maltese “luzzu“ painted in the traditional red, blue and yellow. We then proceed by coach through Birzebbugia before arriving at the Blue Grotto in Wied iz-Zurrieq. A short boat trip (at an extra cost 2,50 ML £) will enable the group to view at close range the underwater flora in the Grotto.

TEMPLES
This is a guided tour covering Tarxien Temples – a group of three Temples that due to their very good state of preservation provide us with evidence of the skill and artistic abilities of our forefather. Another stop will be at Ghar Dalam Caves – one of the first habitats of these islands.

HARBOUR CRUISE
On arrival at the Sliema Ferry, you start for an enjoyable 90-minute cruise around the two natural ports of Marsamxett and the Grand Harbour whose natural creeks make this port one of the most beautiful in Europe. The views of the fortifications from the seaward side are unique and a treasure trove for photographers.

GOZO, full-day trip
After a 20-minute ferry crossing to Malta‘s sister island, one immediately notices although both islands are similar in history and development – Gozo is definitely greener and more picturesque than Malta. Our guided tour in Gozo starts with a stop at the Megalithic Temples of Ggantija and Calypso‘s Cave, followed by the Old Citadelle in Victoria. After lunch we shall also visit Xlendi Bay and Dwejra – better known for the “Azzur Window“.
