Possibilities of Participation
1st round - Qualifying Competition
Participation in the Qualifying Competition of the World Choir Games –
Any lay or amateur choir* of any kind may take part. In the spirit of the Idea of the World Choir Games, “Taking part is the highest honour“, all choirs, regardless of their artistic level of achievement, have the opportunity to take part in the Qualifying Competition of the World Choir Games and gather valuable experience in international competition. The choirs will be evaluated by an international jury (5 jurors) in accordance with the general MUSICA MUNDI evaluation system and awarded Gold, Silver and Bronze Diplomas. Choirs awarded Gold Diplomas in this competition qualify for the Competition of the World Choir Games.

2nd round - Competition
Participation in the Competition of the World Choir Games –
Any lay or amateur choir* of any kind may take part. A choir may enter the Competition of the World Choir Games by qualifying, by applying directly or by delegation. The artistic committee decides whether a choirs is admitted to the competition. The choirs will be evaluated by an international jury (7 jurors) in accordance with the MUSICA MUNDI evaluation system of the World Choir Games and awarded Bronze, Silver or Gold Medals, according to the number of points they scored. In each category the best choir that has received a Gold Medal will be awarded the title “Champion of the World Choir Games".

Festival
Participation without entering decisions of the World Choir Games
Aside from competition, choirs, orchestras and cultural groups of any kind (henceforth referred to as festival ensembles) may take part in the World Choir Games Graz 2008. They are cordially invited to participate in encounter concerts and to present their programmes.

* For a choir to qualify as an amateur choir, none of its members may earn a living by professional singing.
