Mariahilferkirche
Competition Location
The Church of Mariahilf is one of the most beautiful and significant religious buildings in Graz, especially in terms of art history. It was built in 1611 by Pietro de Pomis, who also created the "Gnadenbild der Stadtmutter von Graz", (an image of Mary, Mother of Graz City, said to have miraculous powers). The Franciscan Monastery, with its convent and parish, are especially devoted to providing religious services and a constant opportunity to go to confession. All the high religious feasts are accompanied with music by various groups from the parish. The main cultural activities are spiritual concerts. Visitors to the parish library and audio library are most welcome.
